Welcome to the world of Legend
Tripping. I designed this blog for parents who want to take their families on
real live adventures. These adventures, we call legend trips and they are
exciting. You may find this strange, but I love to go look for monsters, ghost
and other legends. I don’t consider myself a monster hunter or a paranormal
investigator. I like to be referred to as a legend tripper. I go look for all
that stuff. I’ve been a legend tripper since I can remember. I didn’t know it
was called that back then, when I was doing it. I never get bored of hearing
legends or investigating them. I’m not saying that I believe what everybody
tells me, but I do believe that there are things out there that are not so
easily explainable.” Yes, I do believe that there are monsters, ghosts, and
mysterious places out there.”
As a parent, are you tired of
watching your kids play video games all day? Are you tired of trying to get
them to go outside and do something active? Are you looking for something that
you and your kids will be interested in doing together, but you don’t have a
lot of money? Are you tired of spending a lot of money at amusement parks? Then
maybe legend tripping is for you. I know that it works for me. You approach
your child, who is playing a video game, and ask them if they want to go
camping. They look at you and make face that says “You are out of your mind”.
They then replay back “Go camping and do what? Get eaten by mosquitoes? Now,
let’s go back and say it a different way. Ask your child if they want to go
Bigfoot Hunting. I guarantee you won’t get the same look. The first thing
they’ll say, of course, is “Are you serious?” You look them dead in the eye and
you say “You bet I am. I heard of a Bigfoot sighting and I want to go check it
out.” Now you have turned the ordinary camp out into an adventure trip.
Everybody loves an adventure. Why do you think these kids are playing these
video games? In my opinion, this is how kids today find adventure. Through the
video games, they are in far off places, looking for monsters and bad guys. Our
kids are looking for adventure.
With legend tripping, you as a
parent will make memories that your kids will pass on to their kids. Most
people know what a legend is but they don’t know how to look for one. They
don’t realize how easy and inexpensive it is and can be a way for parents to
connect with their children and visa a versa. If you really don’t know that
much about legend tripping, that’s OK and if you do know, but want to know more
about it, then you’re half way there. In future posts I will show you, the
parent, how to plan and go on a legend trip with your family. I will go into
what legend tripping is and the different kind of legends, just in case you
don’t know. I will show you where and how to research for a certain kind of
legends you want to go look for. I will show you what to take depending on
which legend to go look for and what not to take. I will post blogs about outdoor
survival. This is not to make anybody feel stupid, but I have seen and heard of
to many accidents during trips for me not to mention it, plus it will give you
a check list to go by whenever you go out legend tripping. One thing I’m big on
is being prepared for any situation. I learned that in the military, not to mention
my father was always big on being prepared. I put down a list of do’s and
don’ts. I just recently finished writing my book “Legend Tripping: The Ultimate
Family Experience” and in it I show you the parent how to organize and conduct
a legend trip with your family, or if you are with the scouts and another organization,
the same applies. I go over some facts about legends and I talk about how to
motive your children. I also go over some of the famous legend trippers of the
past and present and I have put together an extensive list of recommended books
for you and your family to read and television shows as well. If you follow
everything in this blog, you will have a successful legend trip and it will be
something your family will always remember. Join me now in the ultimate family
adventure: Legend Tripping.
