Robert Robinson's bio

I grew up an Army brat and had the privilege of visiting numerous countries. Upon graduating high school in 1982, I enlisted in the United States Army and serviced for twenty one years. During my years of service, I have served in South Korea, Texas, Italy, North Carolina, Johnston Atoll, Germany, Cuba, and Panama. I was deployed to Afghanistan right after 911 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
I have completed the Basic Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, and Military Police Special Reaction Team Course.  I have a Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice from Everest University and Associate’s Degree in General Studies from the Central Texas Collage. I’m also certified PADI wreck diver.
I retired from the Army in 2003 and started teaching JROTC in Winter Haven, Florida and I have continued teaching JROTC at Summerlin Academy in Bartow, Florida.
I  became interested in mysteries and the unexplained at a young,  after watching movies” The Abominable Snowman of the Himalayas” and “The Legend of Boggy Creek” .  Because the whole subject of real monsters and ghosts scared me, I started researching legends by reading every book I could.
After retiring from the Army I started going on Swamp Ape expedition with BFRO. My family and I appeared in ABC’s Wife Swap on 30 July 2010 as the monster/ghost hunting family and in 2014 I filmed a segment on the Florida Sunk Ape for the hit television show "Monsters and Mysteries of America" on the Destination Travel channel.  I refer to myself as Legend Tripper and go on at least one Monster/Ghost hunt a month when my schedule allows.  In 2016 I published my book "Legend Tripping: The Ultimate Adventure".
