What the heck is a survival magazine doing on a blog about Bigfoot and ghosts? I'll tell you why, because believe it or not outdoor survival goes hand and hand with legend tripping.Whenever you go into the woods, even if it is just a day hike, you need to be prepared and plan for emergencies. I can't begin to tell you how many people have got lost and died on just a day hike. If your legend trip requires you and your family to go into woods to look for Bigfoot, a supposed UFO crash site, or a lost treasure, you need to be prepared. Now I don't pretend to be an expert on outdoor survival, but I do understand the importance of it. In fact, I have never been in a outdoor survival situation. I attribute a lot of that to prior planning and being prepared for the worst.
Now when it come to books, there are a lot out on the subject. But when it comes to monthly publications, there is only one and it a good one. I like the fact that is goes over new outdoor equipment to include knives and gives you the real low down on them. This is a great magazine and even if you're not into outdoor survival, it has great articles about what to do in emergency situations. It also shows a lot of different techniques for starting fires and making shelters.
